Job Title
Telecom Engineer
Job Summary
The Telecom Engineer is responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, and optimization of telecommunications systems and network infrastructure. The role ensures reliable network performance by supporting field operations, troubleshooting technical issues, implementing network upgrades, and maintaining compliance with operational and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain telecommunications equipment and systems.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on telecom infrastructure.
Diagnose and resolve network faults and technical issues.
Conduct site inspections and ensure equipment is operating efficiently.
Support network expansion, upgrades, and commissioning activities.
Monitor network performance and recommend improvements to enhance service quality.
Coordinate with field teams to ensure timely completion of maintenance and installation activities.
Prepare technical reports, maintenance records, and site documentation.
Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, test equipment, and spare parts.
Comply with company policies, operational procedures, and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
Experience
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in telecommunications operations, network maintenance, or field engineering.
Experience with telecom transmission, wireless networks, fiber optics, or radio systems is preferred.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of telecommunications systems and network infrastructure.
Excellent troubleshooting and fault diagnosis skills.
Familiarity with transmission systems, fiber optics, RF equipment, and telecom site infrastructure.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and network diagrams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical reporting.
Willingness to travel and work at field sites when required.
